The excitement of football lovers is at its peak because the most awaited occurrence for football fans over the world is finally here, THE FIFA WORLD CUP 2022 is to be held on 18 December 2022. This iconic match will be played at the newly constructed LUSAIL stadium in Lusail, Qatar, which is the biggest stadium in Qatar. Construction of this stadium began in 2017 and will be completed in 2021. This stadium is specially built for the FIFA world cup 2022, with a seating capacity of approximately 80,000 people which will be reduced to 40,000 after the world cup to include other facilities like shops, cafes, and other amenities.
Qatar is the first middle eastern country to host an event of this scale and coincidentally  18-December is also annually celebrated as the National day of Qatar. The last FIFA world cup was held at Luzhniki Stadium, in Moscow, Russia in 2018 which was procured by FRANCE.

Prize money:
This year FIFA has announced $440 million in total prize money, while the prize money for the last FIFA world cup final in 2018 was $400 million.

In April 2022 FIFA confirmed that the winner of this edition will receive a record prize of $42 million.
